Something Old, Something New April 28, 2011

I’ve made a decision.  I think this blog is done for.  I’ve been getting on average maybe 2 hits a day for the past six months, and changing the format and everything hasn’t helped much.  This is the main reason why I didn’t keep posting more of the unfinished novel, because no one is reading it anyway.  So why bother?

That said, it’s time to put this one to sleep.  Over the next few days, I am going to go through and remove several of the posts, especially those from the last several months since I started focusing this blog on writing.  The main reason for this is that some of the stories I wrote before NaNoWriMo are now being reworked and submitted to various online and print magazines.  As I noted several posts back, one of them has already been accepted, and will be appearing hopefully sometime this summer.  Because of this, I’d prefer that they not exist already online, as most publishers frown on such practices.

So, much of the recent content will disappear, and this blog will revert back to it’s engineering blog status.  Honestly, most of the people who find this site get here looking for electrical engineering information anyway.  That’s okay by me.  If they find something useful, then it’s worth leaving up.  Everything else though, is toast.

Ahh, but fear not, this is not the end of my online adventures!  I recently registered a domain for myself, and once I secure hosting I will be starting a brand new site from scratch, one that I hope I can update regularly with fresh, original content.  It’s also a place where people can find out more about me after reading my stories as they are published (I’m thinking positively here).   A home for myself online.  Yeah, that’s the ticket.

In summary, yes, this will all be going away soon, but it will not be the last you hear from me.  Once I have the new site set up, I’ll make a final post here with a link to it, and then this blog will be put out to pasture.  For those who have stuck around, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you on the other side.
